Real human medical skull, sagittal section young adult

£650.00

An interesting example of a sagittal section medically prepared skull. This was originally purchased from the Adam Rouilly company around 1980.

The skull appears to be that of a young adult as it is a relatively small and delicate skull weighing just 400g and measuring 16.5cm front to back. The bone is also very thin and delicate. The remaining teeth also show little wear. There would have been 14 in the mandible and 16 in the upper jaw. The bones are also not fully fused and the skull shows dis articulation at the sphenoid-basilar junction.

Unfortunately, most of the teeth are now missing with only two teeth in both upper and lower jaws. The nasal bones have also come loose and are now absent. The fittings to articulate the jaw and the hooks to hold the cranium in place and also to hold the sagittal sections together are all in place and in good condition.
